Musée du Bugey-Valromey

At the centre of Lochieu village, nestled at the foot of Grand Colombier Mountain, a carefully preserved stone house built during the Renaissance houses the ethnological Bugey-Valromey Museum. Offering the chance to discover the various aspects of rural life in Bugey through collections and reconstructions retracing the traditional multi-tasking nature of this mountain people: housing, farming, crafts, culture and, of course, wine production. Not forgetting their incredible collection of turned wood artwork!
The history of the area and of significant local people, daily life, geography and wildlife, means of transport and communication and landscapes are just some of the main themes presented in the exhibitions.
