Canal de Miribel

The Miribel canal isin an old main arm of the Rhône river. 1840: will of taming the Rhône with dikes. 1848: digging of the Miribel canal by the unemployed Lyon silkworkers ( les Canuts) to guide the river and stabilize the floods.
